The King William Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 24 in the King William District, 1032 South Alamo St.
$5 for adults, free for children younger than 12. Advance tickets: http://kwfair.org/.
Here is how the organizers describe the event:
In 1967, the King William Association was chartered as a nonprofit corporation to preserve the oldest historic district in the state of Texas and to promote the unique cultural heritage of San Antonio. To further that mission, the association hosted its first Fair in 1968. Since then, the Fair has grown from a one-block arts exhibit to a major Fiesta event. Through the efforts of hundreds of volunteers and thousands of fair-goers, the fair raises funds for arts, education and community improvements. The day starts with a parade that offers political parodies and parading pooches, kings and kids, bands marching and bellies dancing. The fair offers food, beverages, art and craft booths, live music on multiple stages, children's activities and a living history presentation.
